Vulcanite sauna heater stones from Finland. The benefit of vulcanite heater stones is that they are very hard, very durable so they crumble less and produce less dust. The black colour of the vulcanite rock is very special and unusual, luxurious.

Vulcanite is very well suited to be used as a sauna heater stone, but due to the cost is less popular than the olivine diabase.

Check what is the stone capacity of your heater, and calculate how many boxes of stones you will need. The smaller stones typically fit better in electric heaters.

Sauna heater stones:
* diameter 2-4" (5-10 cm)
These are typically used in electric heaters, where they fit better between the heater resistors.
* diameter 4-6" (10-15 cm)
These are typically used in large heaters and wood fired heaters, where the rock space is more open as there are no electrical resistors in middle of the stones.
If you have a large electric heater, you can choose to purchase one or two boxes of the large stones and the rest the smaller. Lay the large ones on the bottom.

Remove the stones from the heater once per year, for inspection, replace any broken stones or stones with calcium or other deposit, and re-insert the stones carefully.
