Sauna heater stones from Finland. These are rounded smooth stones. The benefit of rounded heater stones are 2: they crumble less and produce less dust, they allow air to pass through the rocks more easily and thus the sauna warms up efficiently.

 The stone type is Olivine Diabase. That is the best and the most popular stone for sauna heaters, as it is very durable to the heat cycles (heating up, cooling down), resistant to shock cooling by pouring water on them, and most important of all, they retain a lot of heat.

Check what is the stone capacity of your heater, and calculate how many boxes of stones you will need. The smaller stones typically fit better in electric heaters.

These are typically used in electric heaters, where they fit better between the heater resistors.

These are typically used in large heaters and wood fired heaters, where the rock space is more open as there are no electrical resistors in middle of the stones.
If you have a large electric heater, you can choose to purchase one or two boxes of the large stones and the rest the smaller. Lay the large ones on the bottom.
