A maintenance tip: Heat treated aspen wood can be protected with paraffine oil. Apply a very thin coating, don't soak it. Paraffine oil will seep into the wood and not leave a paintlike coating, so the wood will retain its natural feel, but the oil will make it easier to clean and be more resistant to water.
